Counter-Strike and Condition Zero

* Prevent Russian Walking exploit

Basically crouch hopping sounds like running and if you jump while standing still, it makes a footstep noise. Retarded if you want to jump up to boxes quietly which is basically impossible now. So yeah, screw you VALVe.

Oh QQ more. The Russian Walking was already known to be fixed.
The portion about jumping while standing still doesn't really matter.
This is not always a bad thing for you. It can also help you since the other team could be jumping too.
You would know if they tried to jump on a box.
The only difference now is, you don't know if they jumped up or just jumped in one spot.

Well I knew they would eventually fix the Russian Walk/Crouch Running but the jumping crap is retarded. The point of walking up to a box and then jumping up was to be silent and sneak around. This is now impossible and will result in giving away your position. I'd much rather be able to sneak around then hearing a bunch of fatties jumping around. And now I can't even sneak around and jump on CT's in hide and seek :(

Russian walking wasn't even fixed.
All VALVe did was add the jump sound.
Therefore, their Russian walk fix was a failed fix in all directions.
The jumping has nothing to do with Russian walking.

Well the point of "Russian Walking" was to mask the running footsteps and by making a jump noise every time you tap crouch somewhat fixes the bug however, it has only created more harm than good. By taking this shortcut, VALVe only created more bugs and flaws to the game so like I said in my original post, screw VALVe. Hopefully they fix these problems within the next couple of days/weeks but I highly doubt it.

Everytime VALVe makes an addition/fix for the actual game, it's never good.

Well at least they fixed this:

Counter-Strike 1.6

* Fix the wrong sounds being played on jump when moving to different surfaces

Still no fix on the jump noise while walking though =/

Looks like VALVe is trying to fix the flash bug. Here's a post from a STEAM thread by a VALVe employee:

"Okay, I just worked out a potential fix; it at the very least fixed THAT one, it _should_ fix all of them though."

"I read the thread, went for a smoke, had an idea for what's causing it from the youtube video tested it out unmodified to duplicate the bug (by making the flashbang not explode for 20 seconds so i could get into position), went 'hmmm..', made the change to attempt to fix it, went in and tested again, no flash in tunnel. but i can still be flashed under normal circumstance." -Toni Sergi

Yeah, if you're not on the receiving end being randomly flashed for a ridiculous amount of time.

2 questions, 1. Why can't they leave the general game mechanics alone, games like 10 years old. 2. How long does it take to fix stupid glitches like the flash thing? Years apparently.

It's been implemented for several days now but yay, finally some worthy updates:

Counter-Strike 1.6

* Rolled back recent silent walking exploit fixes as we investigate less impactful ways of preventing the bug
* Adjusted bomb bounding box to prevent silent plant exploit
* Fix to eliminate or significantly reduce "flashbugs"
* Fixed status icons (buy zone, bomb zone, etc) disappearing when starting a recording, or issuing a fullupdate
* Prevent creating aliases using the same name as existing cvars
* Rate limit fullupdate and some other commands to prevent spamming
* Fixed an issue with grenades where they could go into an area and bounce infinitely, causing the server to choke and or crash
