Ok, so I was beginning to brainstorm some promotional ideas for the site. Since the Clip of the Month got no reception whatsoever, I'm ready to hand out a paypal prize of $25 as the prize for some new promotional idea. Here are some ideas I had:
1) Thread of the Month
The member who creates the best thread will receive the prize money. The "best thread" will be decided by aggregating the top 5 most replied to threads created in March and doing a vote. Let X = # of Replies to the thread minus replies made by the thread starter, and let Y = # of votes received for a given thread. Thread score, Ts will be calculated by the formula: Ts = X + 5Y.
2) Poster Lottery
All forum members who make at least 25 posts in the forums will be entered into a lottery to win the prize money. For every 25 posts you make, you get an extra chance to win. For example, if you make 25 posts in the month of March, your name gets entered into the lottery once, if you make 50 posts in the month of March your name gets entered twice, and so on and so forth. I still need to check on the logistics of whether vBulletin will calculate the # of posts for each user makes within the month to see if this is ven possible.
