Noticeable Influx of Euro Players

Well I've been playing lately and from the beginning of Winter Break to now there's been a huge increase in presence of European players, mainly British and Irish. It's pretty funny and you can tell straight off their accents, did the game just release there during January or something? And how do our connections get matched up with theirs?

lol, usually british or euro players (especially around germany and the netherlands) have a LOT of servers, but i think the reality is that the public playing is dieing over there. i say this because competitive cs is still very big in that area. i mean more stuff like lan tourneys, etc, not your everyday scrim. Oddly enough ive seen a lot of this as well, mostly german or something to that effect

well the way gaming connections work for CoD on XBOX360 is that it will designate a particular player as the host, and they'll seek out other players searching for the same match type who would have a close connection with the player designated as the host. I guess you can say it's kind of random, and lightly based on location. I was noticing that more and more I get into games with European players which i thought might be odd, since on games like counter-strike we get such shitty pings with euro servers from new york.
